Related Gases in the Seafood Market
Carbon Dioxide
Carbon dioxide protects the taste and texture of your seafood products by maintaining proper temperature control in cooling, chilling and freezing applications. Solid carbon dioxide in the form of CO2 snow can be produced on-site for chilling process lines and box snowing.
Nitrogen
Nitrogen is a key cryogenic agent in cooling, chilling and food freezing processes. And because of its extremely cold temperatures, liquid nitrogen is an essential part of immersion freezing, the fastest method known for producing individually quick frozen (IQF) foods.
Oxygen
Critical for life, oxygen is used in aquaculture to deliver the dissolved oxygen levels that are needed for high production levels, increased pond population density and fish health.
Applications for Seafood Processing

Removing heat quickly and uniformly is vital to maintaining the quality and integrity of your seafood. A rapid, thorough chill retains the moisture and natural attributes that make your product unique and delicious. The Linde CRYOLINE® freezing systems provide accurate, repeatable and affordable freezing or chilling when and where you need it.

Removing heat with carbon dioxide snow is an economical and precise way to cool your seafood products at any point in your production. Our snow dispensing devices are available in a wide range of sizes and types, and can stream CO2 snow from any orientation. Plus, the carbon dioxide snow particles are more consistent and uniform, allowing for cost-effective snow cooling.

Replacing the air in a seafood package with a precise gas mixture allows the product to stay at its best for longer. Choosing the proper atmosphere means achieving the right combination of gases to reduce the growth of bacteria and prevent discoloration. The MAPAX® ExtendaPak line of gas mixtures helps ensure you get just the right atmosphere for your seafood product.

Maintaining oxygen levels in your aquaculture system is critical to the success of your operation including fish health. Delivering pure Linde oxygen to pond water results in much greater transference rates, compared to air-only systems. With precise oxygen level monitoring and delivery, your aquaculture system can maintain and shift oxygen levels, as needed, to help you increase yield and meet higher production goals.
