Linde works closely with its customers to develop, optimize and troubleshoot their nitriding and nitrocarburizing processes. Nitriding is a process that creates a case-hardened outer layer for steel components. Under the appropriate temperature, time and monatomic nitrogen conditions, the desired case forms on the surface of the steel component.
We reliably provide high-quality gases that form the basis of either a primary or supplemental atmosphere for these processes. Carburizing atmospheres provided by Linde include nitrogen, ammonia and various hydrocarbons, and nitrogen is also used as a purge gas, in compliance with National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA) safety guidelines.
The NITROFLEX® technical portfolio provides solutions that:
· Produce repeatable outcomes
· Reduce downtime
· Accelerate carburization
· Eliminate intergranular oxidation
· Minimize atmosphere consumption
· Eliminate salt bath wastes
· Improve workplace safety
