| Linde works with its customers to develop, optimize and troubleshoot their carburizing and carbonitriding processes. Carburization is a process that creates a case-hardened outer layer for a steel component. Under the appropriate temperature, time and atmospheric carbon potential conditions, the desired case forms on the surface of the steel component.
We reliably provide high-quality nitrogen gases that form the basis of either a primary or supplemental atmosphere, or as a supplemental atmosphere to a methanol or endo gas supply (i.e., nitrogen used to dilute dissociated methanol). Carburizing atmospheres provided by Linde include nitrogen, ammonia and various hydrocarbons, and nitrogen is also used as a purge gas, in compliance with National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA) safety guidelines.
The CARBOFLEX® technical portfolio provides solutions that:
· Produce repeatable outcomes
· Reduce downtime
· Accelerate carburization
· Eliminate intergranular oxidation
· Minimize atmosphere consumption
· Eliminate salt bath wastes
· Improve workplace safety
