Linde has developed the FERROCLEAN™ process, which efficiently and economically desulphurises cast iron alloys in batch and continuous melting operations. It also improves alloying through better mixing by introducing nitrogen into the bottom of the ladle through a porous plug. FERROCLEAN saves time, efficiently reduces sulphur levels and can be used on any ladle design.
The main advantages of introducing FERROCLEAN technology are:
- Reduced refining time
- Possible reduction in sulphur (S) content below 0.2 % in the iron alloys
- Reduced Magnesium consumption ( MgS)
- Molten metal temperature homogenization
- Increase melting flexibility due to addition metal treatment in the ladle
