About LifeGas - GEMI Fund

Gas-Enabled Medical Innovations or GEMI, is defined as the process of researching and developing advanced preventive, therapeutic and diagnostic solutions using the highest quality medical gases. GEMI represents a relatively uncharted area of scientific inquiry. Consequently, a growing number of experts consider GEMI a field in which there are significant therapeutic and business opportunities.

The GEMI fund was established in 2003 by Linde Gas Therapeutics in cooperation with Harvard Medical International (Boston) and the Karolinska Institute of Stockholm, Sweden. GEMI is a fund that grants recipients the financial means to pursue new and innovative research into the use of gases relating to the treatment, prevention and diagnosis of diseases and other physical disorders.

About LifeGas - Innovative Research - Inspire Award

The Inspire Award was created by BOC Medical (now part of The Linde Group) in 2005 to encourage innovative clinical research into the use of medical gases in human healthcare.

Applications are invited for research project that add to our understanding of how medical gases can be used to treat a range of respiratory and other illnesses. Awards may be made up to twice yearly and the amount and frequency of the award will be dependant on the quality of proposals received.
