| The production of alternative fuels is gaining momentum for economic, energy security and environmental reasons, and Linde is playing a leading role in the development of new and innovative ways to meet the needs of our customers and the world at large.
For example, Linde is a world leader in offering gaseous and liquefied hydrogen refueling solutions for hydrogen-powered vehicles such as automobiles, forklift trucks and buses. The recent introduction of our fast-fill, 700 bar hydrogen refueling technology dramatically improves the rate of refueling and versatility compared with previous solutions and demonstrates Linde’s ability to design and deliver the best commercial hydrogen refueling solutions.
Linde is also leading the way in the development of liquefied natural gas (LNG) and renewable LNG applications. An example is the company’s recent agreement with Waste Management to build the world’s largest plant for the conversion of landfill gas into environmentally friendly, renewable LNG, which will be used as a fuel for 300 of Waste Managements refuse collection trucks. Linde is responsible for the design, engineering and operation of the plant.
In the area of biofuels, Linde supplies oxygen, carbon dioxide, nitrogen and hydrogen gas and expertise, as well as VOC control technology, for a range of applications.
Linde is also a major supplier of carbon dioxide and nitrogen used for gas well drilling and completion, and enhanced oil recovery (EOR) applications. |
