| The hydrogen fuel cell is one of the most aggressively pursued technologies of the decade. When successfully rolled out, hydrogen fuel cells will provide a truly "green" energy source that will hasten a massive shift in the world’s energy infrastructure.
Hydrogen-fueled cars and buses have already entered the commercial market. Linde’s hydrogen is being used at stationary fueling stations to support zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emission fuel cell cars and buses entering the market, as well as internal combustion engine-powered vehicles that use liquid hydrogen. Linde supplied green hydrogen as part of a nationwide Hydrogen Road Tour in 2008. The road tour highlighted the hydrogen fuel cell and internal combustion engine vehicles available from more than 10 OEMs and the hydrogen fueling infrastructure that will support them.
Hydrogen is also becoming a fuel of choice for fuel cell powered forklift trucks trucks. Linde supplies hydrogen and fueling technology to power forklift trucks at warehouses and distribution centers. Hydrogen-powered forklift trucks show better performance than traditional lead acid battery-powered vehicles, yield facility-wide efficiency and productivity gains, and operators find the refueling technology easy to use.
